Arrest after Scot falls to death climbing from high-rise flat using knotted bed sheets

Police have made an arrest after a man plunged to his death while climbing from a fourth-floor flat using a set of knotted sheets.

Scott Allison, 35, was almost at the bottom of the high-rise Cobbinshaw house in Edinburgh 's Calder area when he fell.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene when they received calls from the members of the public and found Scott seriously injured.

He was rushed to Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary but later died from his injuries.

A witness, who asked not to be named, said: "I was just across the road. It was awful. He was hanging on then just fell'

It's understood Scott lived locally but it's not clear if the flat he was in was his own or belonged to someone else.
