Police have arrested a man after a stabbing in Walton.
Emergency services rushed to Gwladys Street at around 6.30pm on Thursday, July 28. At the scene they found a man had been stabbed in the arm.
He was rushed to hospital for treatment and was later discharged. Officers have confirmed that this morning, they have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. He is currently in custody.

It is believed the victim was involved in an altercation earlier in the day with another man before the stabbing. Eyewitnesses said there was a lot of shouting earlier in the day, and some directly before the incident on Thursday night.
One person said: "I saw the lad get in the ambulance and his girlfriend was crying shouting 'he's been stabbed'. He looked okay, He was stabbed in his arm.
"I just heard lots of shouting [on Thursday], they started fighting and arguing last night up to 7 o’clock this morning." Another witness said they saw a man "running from the scene".
Chief Inspector Kevin Chatterton said: "Enquiries are in the very early stages to establish what has taken place. I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Gwladys Street at around 6.30pm this evening and seen or heard anything to come forward and speak to us.
"I would appeal for residents in the area to check your CCTV footage to see if it has captured any footage as it may help with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000545060."
