Police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged attempted murder on a Scots road.
The incident took place on Renfrew Road in Paisley around 8pm on Friday.
Officers have confirmed that a 44-year-old man was arrested over the alleged attempted murder of a 43-year-old man.
The injured man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
It is understood that he is in a stable condition and police enquiries into the alleged attack are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a 43-year-old man following an incident on Renfrew Road at around 8pm on Friday, 30 April, 2021.
"The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he remains in a stable condition.
"Enquires are continuing."
