Arran CalMac ferry to continue sailing from Troon as broken Ardrossan dock remains out of order

The Arran ferry will continue sailing from Troon for a THIRD day tomorrow (Wednesday).

CalMac officials have been thrown a lifeline by bosses at Associated British Ports.

They mobilised staff to receive the giant MV Caledonian Isles yesterday after the ship's berth at Ardrossan was ruled off limits.

It comes amid a political wrangle over moving the service from Ardrossan-owned Peel Ports to Troon on a full time basis.

Insiders have long argued ABP-run Troon is the better option for the service.

And its last ditch rescue this week is understood to have strengthened the cause.

The Ayrshire Post understands the service will continue to operate from Troon until at least the end of tomorrow.
