The trailer for new series Around the World in 80 Days starring David Tennant has been released.
The clip teases the epic story adaptation, based on the novel of the same name by Jules Verne. Fistfights, gunshot wounds, foot chases, hot air balloon rides, are all set against a range of glamorous locations in the trailer.
It will be arriving on BBC One over the Christmas period, although there hasn’t been a confirmed UK air date yet.

What is Around the World in 80 days about?
The story follows an adventurer named Fogg, who places a £20,000 wager against the members of the Reform Club that he can circumnavigate the world in eight days. On his journey, he is accompanied by his new valet Jean Passepartout and Abigail, a journalist for the Daily Telegraph.
The trailer begins by showing us Fogg, played by Tennant, and he is referred to as an adventurer. Then accompanied by companion and journalist Abigail Fix, who explains she’s joining Fogg in order to cover his progress throughout his journey.
We then get a glimpse of his goal travelling around the world in 80 days, we also see a character doubting him and suggesting that he’s not born to adventure.
The trailer ends with Fogg and Abigail who is joined by Jean Passepartout and he asks while they fly off on a hot air balloon, why they couldn’t just take a train.
Who’s in the cast of Around the World in 80 days?
Phileas Fogg is played by a moustachioed Tennant (Doctor Who), while the cast of Around the World in 80 Days also includes Ibrahim Koma (Wallay) as Passepartout and Leonie Benesch (Spy City) as Abigail Fix.
