Around the remote: Chuck Barney's TV and streaming picks for March 31-April 6

DON'T MISS: "Veep" _ As the seventh and final season of the acclaimed political comedy begins, potty-mouthed Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is back on the campaign trail, looking to reclaim the Oval Office. Apparently, she remains unfazed by past flubs and scandals. Among the competition is her slimy former aide-turned-congressman Jonah Ryan (Timothy Simons). Most of Selina's motley crew is also along for what figures to be a hilariously wild ride. (10:30 p.m. Sunday, HBO).

Other bets:

SUNDAY: For "Masterpiece: Mrs. Wilson," Ruth Wilson ("The Affair") stars in the bizarre true story of her own grandmother. After becoming a widow in 1963, Alison Wilson was stunned to discover that her husband, a spy and novelist, was secretly married to several other women. (9 p.m., PBS).

SUNDAY: In Season 2 of "Barry," our conflicted title character (Bill Hader) is desperate to leave the violent world of contract killing behind and devote himself to acting. But getting out isn't easy. (10 p.m., HBO).

MONDAY: As "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" returns to action, our heroes find themselves in 1961 Mexico City. They've gone there to clean up what looks to be a big mess created by Mona. (8 p.m., The CW).

MONDAY: Hosted by Bear Grylls, "Hostile Planet" is a new nature documentary series that treks to the world's most extreme, unforgiving environments and explores how resilient animals somehow manage to survive. (9 p.m., National Geographic).

WEDNESDAY: Baseball is back and so is "Brockmire." As Season 3 of the deranged comedy begins, our title character (Hank Azaria) is out of rehab and doing radio play-by-play work during spring training. Of course, he's as narcissistic as ever. (10 p.m., IFC).

THURSDAY: "In the Dark" is a new drama about a hard-living, hard-drinking 20-something blind woman (Perry Mattfeld). When she suspects that a friend might have been killed, she's compelled to investigate. (9 p.m., The CW).

FRIDAY: Season 2 of "The Tick" has the weird blue crime fighter (Peter Serafinowicz) and pal Arthur (Griffin Newman) trying to defend the city from new villains and old enemies. But first they have to convince AEGIS, the government agency in charge of superhero regulation, that they deserve the job. (Amazon Prime).

FRIDAY: Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, "Our Planet" is a visually dazzling new series that combines extraordinary photography and technology with an unprecedented, never-before-filmed look at the planet's remaining wilderness areas and their animal inhabitants. (Netflix).

SATURDAY: "Native Son" is a TV film based on the novel by Richard Wright. It's the story of a young African-American (Ashton Sanders) whose eyes are opened to a new, precarious world of money and power when he is hired as a chauffeur for a wealthy businessman. (10 p.m., HBO).
