Around 20 firefighters called to blaze at industrial premises

Firefighters are using an aerial ladder to fight an industrial fire in Newark.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a property in Newstead Avenue at about 7.30am on Saturday, March 21.

Crews from Newark fire station, London Road and Collingham are at the scene.

In total, around 20 firefighters are making sure the fire is extinguished.

It is not yet known what caused the fire but there are no casualties.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "Crews from Newark Station, London Road Station and Collingham Station are in attendance at a property fire on Newstead Avenue, Newark on Trent.

"Crews are using four breathing apparatus, one main jet and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

"It is an industrial premise, two storeys, 20 metres by 30 metres and an aerial ladder platform is dealing with the fire from above."
