The mother of a teenager who was stabbed to death for his fake Rolex watch demanded tougher action to combat knife crime today, saying: “This has to stop”.

Aron Warren, 18, was fatally knifed in Greenwich last December by Kamari Gordon who became jealous of his friend’s “affluent lifestyle”, a court heard.

Speaking after Gordon, now 17, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 17 years, the victim’s mother told how her family had been left “shattered” by the killing.

Lorraine Donovan, 51, said: “There will never be any closure.

"At some point he will come out and get on with his life whereas Aron never has the chance to become what he would have become.

"My heart is broken.

"As a family, it has left us shattered.”

She added: “Society needs to wake up.

I never thought it would be me, and now I am one of those mothers.

"This has to stop.”
