Aron Baynes has not played in a game for the Boston Celtics since February 1, which was the third win in what became a five-game winning streak the Celtics carried from January 28 to February 5.
Oddly enough, it only took a few games for the wheels to fall off completely with Baynes absent. The Celtics are 15-13 without him on the year, with six of those losses coming in the 10 games he’s been sidelined in the month of February.
But the Celtics should have their big man back soon, with Brad Stevens telling reporters on Friday he has one “final test” to pass, according to Jay King of The Athletic.
Baynes was seen taking part in his 1-on-1 workout at practice, going up against Robert Williams.
Opponents outscored the Celtics by 28 points over in the 10 games Baynes has been absent, surrendering 113.8 points per game, significantly higher than Boston’s season average of 106.8, which was 105.5 prior to Baynes’ most recent injury.
