Aron Baynes leaves game vs. 76ers with ankle sprain, will not return

On Wednesday, Boston Celtics center Aron Baynes would suffer yet another injury in what’s been a trying season, as he left the Celtics contest against the Philadelphia 76ers with a left ankle sprain.

Baynes tallied four points and three rebounds in 12 minutes but wasn’t nearly as stout as the Celtics would have liked on the defensive end, allowing 76ers center Joel Embiid to get into a rhythm in the low-post.

A seven-year NBA veteran, Baynes has missed 29 games for the Celtics this season as he dealt with a myriad of injuries to his lower extremities. With the big man out, expect centers Daniel Theis and Robert Williams III to get playing time in his place.
