Nottingham Forest's newest loan signing Aro Muric has enjoyed an interesting start to his career.
Here, we look at the Manchester City goalkeeper's path from Grasshoppers Zurich's youth to the Etihad Stadium while playing for two different countries after being born in a third.
A colourful character
Muric was born in Zurich to Albanian parents. He did not start playing in goal until he was 11, but clearly had an aptitude for it.
He joined Manchester City in 2015 from Grasshoppers after having a trial at Manchester United. However, he chose to move to the Etihad.
Muric qualified to play for Montenegro and represented their Under-21s twice. He was sent off on each occasion, the first for handball outside the box and the second for headbutting an opponent.
He then switched allegiance to Kosovo and made his debut in 2018, going on to win five caps, the last of which saw him scouted by Reds boss Martin O'Neill.
Impressing Guardiola
At 6ft 6in, Muric towers over teammates and opponents alike. He is said to have shot up eight inches in three years after his 15th birthday.
Despite his frame, he is good with the ball at his feet, to the extent City boss Pep Guardiola is reported to have said he would make a decent central defender.
According to the Manchester Evening News, he caught the eye with hard work in training as he strived to improve as a goalkeeper.
When Claudio Bravo suffered a season ending injury in August last year, Muric was recalled from a loan at NAC Breda and promoted to be Ederson's deputy.
That meant he played five EFL Cup games, proving himself with some impressive performances.
"He is a young guy, he is so shy. He deserve big applause," Guardiola said after Muric was the hero in the quarter-final win against Leicester City on penalties last season.
"He’s been an important player for us to be where we are. Leicester with the penalties, he was incredible.
"We trust him, that’s why he is second keeper today."
With Bravo fit again, Muric slipped down the pecking order.
