Aro Muric looking 'safer pair of hands' for Nottingham Forest

Aro Muric looked a safer pair of hands at Leeds than he did on his debut, that's for sure.

I was interested to see how the young goalkeeper would react to his errors in the 2-1 defeat against West Brom on the opening day of the season, wondering if they might have knocked his confidence.

When you join a new club you want to impress straightaway - you want to impress the manager, your new teammates and the fans in the stands.

The expectation around Muric was very high too, because he'd arrived on loan from Manchester City.

He would have really wanted everyone to be talking about a wonder save or two after his first match, but instead he was being talked about for his two mistakes against the Baggies, which must have been hard.

But it doesn't look like it has affected him, judging by his performance at Elland Road.

There were still a couple of of times he didn't make the right call, but he looked much better and there wasn't much he could have done about their goal.

It was really important for him to put in an improved, more confident, display, because goalkeepers can either spread confidence or confusion throughout a team.

The players in front of the goalkeeper need to have faith in him and Muric's display in the 1-1 draw will give his teammates that belief he can be relied on when he's needed.
