Arnold Schwarzenegger DROP-KICKED in back by cowardly attacker as he poses for selfies with fans

A cowardly attacker sneaked up behind Arnold Schwarzenegger as he posed for selfies with fans in South Africa and DROP-KICKED the stunned Holywood star.

The 71-year-old Terminator actor was sent sprawling by the vicious karate kick.

The former Governor of California was judging a junior skipping competition at the Arnold Classic Africa sports event on Saturday when the attack took place.

Arnie appeared shocked but unhurt after the incident which took place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

The video footage shows the man being quickly detained before Arnie is seen walking out of the convention centre.

Arnie later told his four million plus Twitter followers he didn’t even know he had been attacked by the “idiot” but thought he’d been pushed about by over-eager fans.

He tweeted: “Thanks for your concerns but there is nothing to worry about. I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot.

“I only realised I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interupt my Snapchat.”

The Arnold Classic Africa said the man had been handed over to police.

Schwarzenegger was born in Austria and first rose to prominence as a bodybuilder, winning the Mr Universe title aged 20.

After moving to Hollywood, he achieved worldwide fame in 1982 action film Conan The Barbarian, which launched his film career.

Schwarzenegger served as the 38th governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
