A Nottinghamshire primary school has been forced to close after one of their children tested positive for Covid-19.
Coppice Farm Primary School in Arnold closed its doors on Thursday, July 16, while a deep clean takes place.
Ofsted says the school is made up of around 200 children, aged between five and 11.
An email was sent out to parents about the closure.
It reads: "We assured you that in the instance of a positive test within our school we would inform you.
"Thus it is with a very heavy heart that I am writing to let you know you that due to one of our key worker pupils testing positive for Covid-19, we have made the decision to close school with immediate effect.
"Whilst this premature closure only immediately affects the pupils still attending school, it also means that all staff who have come into contact with the pupil and consequently, other staff must now isolate so school cannot remain open due the staff availability."
The email also states that next week's Year 6 graduation and celebration may also need to rescheduled.
Jason Brewster, headteacher at Coppice Farm Primary School confirmed that the school is closed following a confirmed case of Covid-19 in school.
"As a result of one confirmed case of Covid-19 in a pupil at the school, the chair of governors and I made the decision to close the school to staff and pupils.
"All staff and children who were in the same group or 'bubble' as the child have been advised to self-isolate for 14 days, in line with public health guidance.
"We have reviewed our risk assessment and, as a precautionary measure, we are carrying out a deep clean of the school ahead of reopening as normal for pupils in other groups on Monday.
"Staff will continue to reinforce the key messages on social distancing and regular handwashing when pupils return."
