Arnold road to shut for a week because of sewage problems 'causing pollution'

A road in Arnold is set to shut for a week so urgent sewage work can take place on a problem that's 'causing pollution'.

A traffic bulletin shows Campion Street will be closed from Tuesday (December 7) through to 5pm on Wednesday, December 15.

The work requires the closure of the road from Redhill Road and Cherry Close.

The road was expected to be closed from 10.30am on Tuesday.

Equipment is in place on the pavement.

Work by Severn Trent Water includes the removal foul water from a sewer from sewage water at surface level.

The traffic bulleting, issued on behalf of Via East Midlands and Nottinghamshire County Council, said the current issue was "causing pollution".

The alternative route motorists are advised to take is via Redhill Road to Cherry Close, and vice versa if travelling in the other direction.

Cherry Close is a narrow, single track road.
