Arnold man had indecent images of children on USB sticks at his home

A 51-year-old man from Arnold had indecent images of children and two prohibited images, a court heard.

They were found after police went to Karl Grosvenor's home and seized USB sticks and memory cards.

There were two category B images, the second most serious type of image, and 119 in category C, the third worst.

Speaking about them, Jon Fountain, prosecuting, told Nottingham Crown Court: "This defendant had an interest in boys and girls from the age of six years upwards."

After reading reports, Judge Stuart Rafferty QC told Grosvenor, of Kilbourne Road: "I hope now you begin to see that looking at images like this is wrong. It can never be right."

And he said: "There is so much child pornography about, because so many people now, for reasons I cannot begin to understand, want to look at it."

Grosvenor pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children and prohibited images.

A sexual harm prevention order was made along with a requirement to sign the sex offenders' register.

The judge made a community order for three years and ordered he complete up to 30 rehabilitation activity days.
