Arnold Lane closed after collision between a police car and another vehicle

Officers were forced to close a road in Gedling after a collision involving a police car and another vehicle while responding to an emergency call.

Nottinghamshire Police closed off Arnold Lane following the collision, which happened at about 2.40pm on Tuesday, June 2.

East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the incident, supporting one driver who suffered minor injuries.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Part of Arnold Lane is closed following a collision between a car and a police car.

"The road is closed between the junction with Bedecar Lane and Lambley Lane while the cars are recovered.

"The collision happened just before 2.40pm today (June 2) in Arnold Lane in Gedling, when the police car was responding to an emergency call.

"One driver has an injury which is believed to be minor."

Nottingham City Transport confirmed buses were forced to divert in the area as a result of the crash.

A spokesperson said: "There has been an accident on Arnold Lane, Gedling.

"Red 44 are diverted via Westdale Lane, Holyoake Road and Shelford Road in both directions.

"Stops on Besecar and Arnold Lane cannot be served and passengers on Wollaton Avenue should use the 45 terminus for the 44."
