Arne Slot has confirmed Ryan Gravenberch and Alexander Isak are both doubtful for Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Brentford this weekend.
Liverpool, who have already lost on both of their visits to the capital this season, are back in London on Saturday night aiming to build on their 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek.
After losing their last three Premier League games in a row, the Reds will be desperate to show that the result in Germany is the beginning of a revival.
Victory at the Gtech Community Stadium would see the reigning Premier League champions move to within a point of leaders Arsenal who are in action at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
In a potential double boost, Slot has not yet ruled out the aforementioned injury doubts, saying both players are a “question mark” for the game in west London.
Gravenberch missed the win over Frankfurt after sustaining an ankle problem in the loss to Manchester United last weekend, while Isak was substituted at half-time in the Champions League clash amid complaints over his groin.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference on Friday, the Dutchman confirmed the latest on the pair and revealed Alisson Becker is still sidelined.
Slot said: “Alex, not too bad. Question mark for the weekend, so let’s see where he is.
“That is the same to be said about Ryan. He didn’t travel with us, so today we are in again, yesterday we were in as well but we had a day to travel.
“Let’s see where he is today and Alisson is not in the squad for tomorrow.”
As expected, Jeremie Frimpong will also miss the Brentford clash after suffering a hamstring injury against Frankfurt and Slot says the Dutchman is not in a good place.
“Jeremie is not in a good place, what I mean by that is he is definitely not to going to play today, tomorrow or next week,” the Liverpool head coach added.
“A hamstring injury, so that is going to take a while.”
