Armyman held for harassing woman in Greater Noida

GREATER NOIDA: An Indian Army personnel was arrested on Thursday for allegedly stalking and threatening a woman and her family. Police said, the accused was serving as a havildar in the Army and was currently posted in Maharashtra.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Sunil Baisla, a resident of Haryana’s Palwal. “We received a complaint on Thursday about a man threatening a woman and her family.

The complainant also mentioned that the accused on November 30 trespassed their house in Beta 2 jurisdiction and tried to attack her with stones. Baisla reached the woman’s native place in Tappal (Aligarh district) with his friends to threaten the family members. A team was sent to Tappal and the accused was arrested from there,” said Anil Kumar, SHO, Sector Beta 2 police station. During questioning, Baisla revealed that he had befriended the woman on Instagram around four years back.
