This is the stomach-churning moment a military chief skins and eats a live lizard in a jungle survival lesson.
The unnamed chief calmly bites into the animal's neck and peels off its skin, leaving the flesh exposed.
Whilst dozens of recruits were watching, he continued and pulled the reptile's intestines out and took a bite of the flesh.
He explained that the geckos could often be found living on tall trees and is the easiest food soldiers can find in the rain forest.
He said in the video: "The meat is the only part you can eat, you can eat it right away or you can cook and grill to make it more delicious.
"It tastes like a chicken or a frog and it also gives you high protein and energy that can make you full your stomach for one day."
The bizarre demo happened during a military camp in Chonburi, eastern Thailand, on February 9.
At the end of the lesson, he picked one student to repeat the procedure.
Terrified to take a bite on the dead gecko, he managed to overcome his fear and hold the reptile in his mouth instead.
The chief told him: "I understand that you find this very unpleasant and disgusting but as soon as you're in any difficult circumstances, you have to be brave in order to live."
