Army bomb units rush to North Dublin as suspicious device found in Cranog Close, Poppintree

Gardai and the military are currently on the scene in North Dublin after an apparent bomb alert.

The army bomb disposal team are currently at the scene in Cranog Close in Poppintree examining a device while gardai have cleared the area.

A spokesperson for gardai said the suspicious device was reported at around 7pm and the scene is currently sealed off.

They said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a reported suspect device in an open area in the Cranog Close area of Poppintree.

"This was reported to Gardaí at approximately 7pm today 7/6/19. The Army EOD team are currently at scene."

They went on to say that no injuries have been reported while it is still not known exactly what the device is yet.

They said: "No injuries have been sustained. A scene is currently in place. No further information is available at this time. "
