Army Bomb Disposal Unit called in after suspicious device found in Dublin

The Army Disposal Unit were called after a suspicious device was discovered in north Dublin this afternoon.

The device was found on the Malahide Road in Donnycarney shortly after 1pm.

Gardai raced to the scene and sealed off the area before calling in the explosives experts, Dublin Live reports.

Traffic was reportedly busy in the area as the brave heroes dealt with the incident.

A garda spokesman said the device was later found to be not viable.

He said: "Gardai received reports of a suspect device on the Malahide Road, Dublin 9 at approximately 1:15pm today.

"The EOD unit were called and discovered the device was not viable."
