Army and Gardai flood quiet Dublin estate as pipe bomb threat by sick gang leaves residents in fear

Residents of a South Dublin suburb were left fearing for their lives as a sick pipe bomb hoax sent Gardai and the Armed Forces flooding into their quiet estate.

The frightening discovery was made after a "suspect device" was suspiciously left outside a house on Loughlinstown Drive on Tuesday night.

Footage obtained by Dublin Live shows several Garda vehicles and the bomb disposal unit racing to the scene to deal with the package.

Thankfully, however, the device was confirmed to be "non-viable" by Gardai.

An Army spokesperson told Dublin Live that the suspected bomb was made safe and removed from the scene around 11:25pm.
