Armoy Road Races results as Michael Dunlop returns to winning ways after injury

Michael Dunlop defied his injuries to win two Superbike races at Armoy on Saturday.

The Ballymoney rider broke his pelvis and suffered a other injuries following a heavy crash at the Southern 100 on July 11 .

But in what is a remarkable recovery Dunlop returned to racing 16 days later - and it proved a winning one.

The 30-year-old, who is walking with the aid of crutches, saw off Derek Sheils and Michael Sweeney, winning by an impressive 4.4 seconds in the Open Superbike race.

It was an 18th victory for the Tyco BMW rider around his home circuit.

And it was soon win number 19 as Dunlop went on to beat Sheils and Derek McGee to secure his eighth successive 'Race of Legends' win.

McGee had earlier completed a hat-trick of wins after claiming the Moto 3 and Supersport races.

Dunlop still has Saturday's feature 'Race of Legends' Superbike race to come.
