Armie Hammer 'quits another TV series' after Twitter storm over unverified DMs

Armie Hammer has reportedly pulled out of another TV series after being embroiled in a social media storm about unverified direct messages.

Latest reports claim the actor has dropped out of Paramount Plus mini-series The Offer.

The new TV series tells the hotly anticipated story behind the making of The Godfather.

Last month, the Rebecca star pulled the plug on another project.

Armie was linked to The Offer in early December for the 10-episode series.

It's said TV bosses will now hunt for a new actor to play the lead role, according to Variety.

Last month, Armie swiftly exited film Shotgun Wedding where he was meant to be playing opposite Jennifer Lopez.

Previously, the Netflix star hit back at "spurious online attacks against me" in a furious tirade online.

The actor was trending online after unverified explicit messages he allegedly sent appeared online.

At the time in a statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter, Armie said: "I’m not responding to these bulls**t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic."

The Mirror has contacted Armie Hammer's representatives for further comment.

Most recently, Armie starred as the brooding and mysterious Max De Winter in the Rebecca remake.

The star played opposite Lily James as her lover in the Netflix film.
