Armie Hammer 'dropped from Billion Dollar Spy film' in wake of sexual assault claims

Armie Hammer has reportedly been dropped from his last remaining film in development, Billion Dollar Spy.

The Hollywood actor, 34, was accused of rape earlier this month, an allegation he strenuously denies.

The 34-year-old actor was originally cast in the Cold War drama back in October 2020, but has now been dropped from the film altogether.

Directed by Amma Asante, the drama was set to star Armie alongside Mads Mikkelsen.

The project was the last movie he had in the works since word of scandal first broke in January.

It's not yet known who will be replacing the actor in the film, Variety reports.

Hammer's departure follows him leaving two other high profile projects, in the wake of his sexual assault scandal.

The actor previously quit Shotgun Wedding, a film in which he was set to star alongside Jennifer Lopez.

In addition to that, he backed out of Paramount Plus series The Offer, which chronicled the making of the 1972 classic The Godfather.

The actor has been slapped with multiple allegations of rape made by women who came forward with attorney Gloria Allred in a press conference in earlier this month.

The allegations lead to the Los Angeles Police Department launching an investigation into the actor.

Hammer has only released one statement since the wake of the allegations, saying the claims were, "bulls**t" and, "vicious and spurious online attacks against him".

Meanwhile his lawyer has described the allegation as "outrageous" and said all of the actor's relations were "completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory".

The Mirror has contacted reps for Asante and film company Walden Media for comment. Armie Hammer's reps were also contacted by The Mirror for comment.
