Armed thugs storm takeaway and threaten teenager with axe in front of customers

Shocking video shows an armed gang storm an Indian takeaway before attacking a teenager with an axe.

The clip was released by police hoping to track down the violent group behind the terrifying incident.

Police were called after three thugs burst into the Palash Balti restaurant in Wolverhampton at around 6pm on September 4.

They held an axe to a 19-year-old man's throat and punched him repeatedly before escaping from the scene in a black Renault Clio.

Ten minutes earlier, the suspect wearing a baseball cap and checked jacket assaulted the teen in a vicious road rage attack outside the restaurant.

Today West Midlands Police released a short clip showing some of the assault, which was filmed by an onlooker, in a bid to track down the suspects.

The footage shows one of men raising the axe above his head in the kitchen area of the takeaway before eventually walking away from his terrified victim.

The force has urged anyone who recognises the men to get in contact via Live Chat at  www.west-midlands.police.uk  - between 8am - midnight or by calling 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 20WV/210555C/19.
