Armed thieves threaten supermarket staff before fleeing with cash in Beaumont

Three armed thieves threatened terrified supermarket staff before making off with a sum of cash in north Dublin this evening.

The frightening robbery took place in the Butterly Business Park in Beaumont shortly before 9pm.

The thieves are understood to have been armed with metal bars which they used to pry open a number of tills before fleeing with the contents.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live they are investigating the theft.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating the armed robbery of a Supermarket in Butterly Business Park, Beaumont, Co. Dublin.

"The robbery occurred this evening at approximately 8:45pm, 22nd March 2021.

"Three armed males entered the premises and threatened staff before fleeing the area with an amount of cash. No injuries reported. Enquiries are ongoing."
