Gardai have launched a probe into the theft of a catalytic converter which was stolen from a car in north Dublin on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at around 2pm in the Castlefield area of Clonsilla, Dublin 15. CCTV footage seen by Dublin Live shows two men parking their car on the road near a house, before entering the front garden.
Both of the men had their faces covered and one stood towards the front door armed with a baton while the other worked on removing the catalytic converter from the car parked in the driveway.

The theft of catalytic converters has been on the rise in Ireland in recent times. In April 2021, An Garda Siochana seized a whopping 2,150 stolen catalytic converters worth around €1.2million in Dublin.
A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating a robbery incident which occurred in Clonsilla, Dublin 15, at approximately 2pm on Wednesday 28th of September 2022. Investigations are ongoing. There have been no arrests at this time. "
