Police are still looking for a person who ran from officers and barricaded himself inside a home Sunday in the west suburb.

Officers responded to reports of a shot fired about 9:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Maple Park Lane, Aurora police said in a statement. Responding officers spotted an armed male, who they recognized as someone wanted on an arrest warrant, running into the back door of a home.

A special response team and drone team were called to the scene, but the male refused to leave the home, police said. A woman came out of the building, and police evacuated nearby homes and told other residents in the area to remain inside.

After making several announcements over loudspeakers, police got a search warrant for the home and the special response team entered, police said. They found no one inside.

Aurora police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact 630-256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.
