Police are warning residents about a pair of robberies earlier this month in Hermosa on the Northwest Side.

In each case, two men have approached victims from behind and either showed a gun or implied having one before taking purses, wallets, cell phones and computers, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The first hold-up happened at 1:05 a.m. Sept. 12 in the 4100 block of West North Avenue, police said. The other occurred at 12:50 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 1900 block of North Kenneth Avenue.

The suspects ran to a black Honda Accord after one of the robberies, according to police.

One suspect is described as a man between 20 and 26 years old standing 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, police said. The other is between 22 and 25 and stands 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9. Both weigh about 170 to 180 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
