Police are warning residents about a pair of armed robberies reported since last month in Gresham on the South Side.

In each case, two men approached a victim, one of them pulling out a weapon and demanding property while the other went through the victim’s pockets, according to a community alert from Chicago police. The robbers then ran away with the victim’s items.

The first hold-up happened about 4:50 p.m. Oct. 26 in the 8500 block of South Carpenter Street, police said. The other happened about 10 a.m. Nov. 1 in the 8500 block of South Elizabeth Street.

The suspects were described as men in their 20s standing between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall and weighing 160 to 230 pounds, police said. They both had brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area South detectives at 312-747-8273.
