Police are warning residents about a pair of armed robberies last week in Englewood on the South Side.

In each case, one or two men approached a victim, hit them with a gun and took cellphones and wallets, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

One hold-up occurred about noon Feb. 20 in the 6800 block of South Throop Street, police said. The other happened about 4 a.m. Feb. 22 in the 6800 block of South Ada Street.

The suspects were described as men between 20 and 30 years old, standing 5-foot-8 to 6-foot-2 and weighing 160 to 200 pounds, according to police. At least one wore a black ski mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area South detectives at 312-747-8273.
