
Police are warning South Side residents of a series of armed robberies reported in recent weeks in South Shore.
In each case, two men approached someone on the street or sidewalk, pulled out a handgun and demanded property, Chicago police said.
The robberies happened:
- About 8:20 p.m. Dec. 22 in the 1700 block of East 71st Street
- About 4:45 p.m. Dec. 30 in the 7000 block of South Stony Island Avenue
- About 1:45 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 2100 block of East 71st Street
- About 4:30 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 1900 block of East 71st Street
The suspects were described as two men between the ages of 18 and 30, standing 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 and weighing 150-170 pounds.
