Police are warning South Siders after a couple of armed robberies were reported last month in Douglas.

In each case, two to four males demanded cellphones and money from residents, Chicago police said in a community alert. The suspects have pointed handguns at people and beaten them during the robberies.

A robbery happened at 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the 3000 block of South King Drive, police said. Another happened at 7:14 p.m. on Sept. 28 in the 2900 block of South King Drive.

Four males on bicycles were described in one robbery, police said. One was wearing a dark orange or red hoodie, while another was wearing a dark green T-shirt with stripes.

The suspects in the second robbery were described as males with short hair standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-11 and weighing 150-160 pounds, police said. One was wearing a black sweatshirt with black pants, and the other was wearing a white sweatshirt with blue jeans.

Anyone with information should call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8384.
