Each robbery happened in Douglas in the early morning hours, police said.

Police are warning Douglas residents to be aware of their surroundings following a series of armed robberies last month in the South Side community.

In each incident, a man between 18 and 25 years old approached the victim, showed a gun and demanded their property, Chicago police said.

The robber hit one victim in the head, knocking that person unconscious, and fled the scene in a vehicle in two of the other incidents.

The robberies happened:

· About 1 a.m., May 12 in the 200 block of East 37th Street;

· About 5 a.m., May 13 in the 3300 block of South Rhodes Avenue; and

· About 5 a.m., May 13 in the 3500 block of King Drive.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8384.
