Armed robberies reported in Bronzeville, Lake Meadows

Three robberies were reported in June in Bronzeville and Lake Meadows.

Chicago police are warning Bronzeville and Lake Meadows residents about a series of robberies that happened in June in the South Side neighborhoods.

In each incident, a man approached the victim from behind and threatened them with a handgun before taking their property, police said.

Two robberies happened in the 4100 block of South Prairie Avenue, police said. The first was at 10:15 p.m. June 16 and the second at 9:30 p.m. June 27.

An additional robbery occurred at 3:25 p.m. June 27 in the 500 block of East 33rd Place, police said.

The primary suspect in these robberies was described as a 5-foot-10, 140-pound man between 18 and 21 years old, police said. He was wearing a gray hoodie, gray pants and a white camouflage shirt in one robbery and a black hoodie and black pants in another.

In the third robbery, he was joined by a second male between 17 and 21 years old, standing 5 feet, 8 inches and weighing 150 pounds, police said. The second suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans.
