FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ As the disappointed robber cleared the money out of the Chevron station's cash register Tuesday afternoon, he wanted to know "where are all the $100 bills?" a police report shows.
"That's it," the armed man asked the cashier when he handed the till over.
The cashier advised that $100 bills were kept in a safe that only the manager could access.
The suspect _ wearing a black baseball cap, a black shirt with a dog logo on the front, black shorts and black shoes _ took the cash that was there and ran away, police said.
How much money he got away with was not disclosed.
The stickup happened about 1:19 p.m. at 10255 Pines Boulevard, said Amanda Conwell, a spokeswoman for the Pembroke Pines Police Department.
The man resembled a robber who has committed a series of robberies in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, she said. Police failed to provide a list of the dates or locations for those other robberies.
Before the robber entered the store Tuesday, he exchanged words with a customer whom it appeared that he knew, the police report said. That customer drove a metallic blue SUV.
