Six men remain in police custody following an "altercation" in Swansea during the early hours of Saturday, February 27.
People living in the Brynmill area of the city reported a heavy police presence in the vicinity of Ysgol Gymraeg Bryn y Mor on St Alban's Road.
South Wales Police confirmed that officers from the force, including an armed response team, were called to the vicinity of Brynmill Crescent at 5.30am following reports of an "altercation" taking place.
Following the incident, six men in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of affray and are in police custody.
Armed police were also deployed to the area "as a precaution" and to protect the public.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "At 5.30am today South Wales Police received reports of an altercation in the vicinity of Brynmill Crescent, Swansea.
"Six men aged in the 20s have been arrested on suspicion of affray and are in police custody.
"Armed police were deployed on a precaution to ensure the safety of the public and officers. Enquiries are on-going."
