Armed police swoop on Scots street amid reports of 'firearm being discharged'

Armed police raced to a quiet street amid reports a firearm had possibly been discharged.

Emergency crews swooped on the Mayfield Crescent area of Leslie, Fife, at around 12pm on Sunday, July 3. Images show a number of police vehicles parked close to the scene, with armed officers in the area.

Police Scotland confirmed that although emergency services attended, no-one was injured. They added that enquiries to establish the full nature of the incident remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a possible firearm being discharged in the Maryfield Crescent area of Leslie around 12pm on Sunday, 3 July, 2022.

“Emergency services attended and no-one was injured.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
