'Armed police' swoop on house in Stirling as neighbours told to stay indoors

'Armed police' were seen swooping on a house in the village of Cowie, Stirling this morning.

Officers were seen at an address in the Hilton area of the village.

Some neighbouring residents said they were ordered to stay inside their homes by cops around 7am on Wednesday.

Police Scotland confirmed that an operation involving specialist officers had taken place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Forth Valley, supported by specialist resources, carried out a planned operation at an address in Cowie, Stirling on Wednesday 10th July.

"Inquiries remain ongoing.”
