Armed police swoop on Glasgow street as terrified residents told to close windows

Armed police have swooped on a street in Glasgow amid an ongoing incident.

Terrified residents watched as multiple marked vehicles descended on Battlefield Avenue in the city's south side around 6.30pm on Saturday May 9.

Pictures from the scene show a heavy police presence, as residents told how the entire road has been shut off.

One resident claimed officers have told them to close their windows.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "There are armed police forces in my building and garden atm in Battlefield Avenue. We've been told to close our windows.
