It later emerged that the drama was a "pre-planned" police operation to arrest a man.

One witness said:"This was a large opertion. A dawn raid type thing."

No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said:"A 28 year-old man was arrested at a house in Wheatley Gardens, Shettleston, Glasgow on Thursday, 2 April, 2020 following a pre-planned policing operation.

"A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
