Armed police swoop on Fife street after reports of disturbance

Police have swooped on a property on a Fife street after reports of a disturbance.

A number of armed officers swarmed Shakespeare Avenue, Buckhaven at 3.25pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Several police cars and vans were pictured parked up in the area while cops dealt with the disturbance.

The nature of the disturbance remains unknown.

Police Scotland have confirmed that a 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police were made aware of a disturbance within a property on Shakespeare Avenue in Buckhaven around 3.25pm on Wednesday, 8 April.



"A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday, 8 April.

"Nobody was injured.

"The local community are thanked for their understanding while this incident was resolved."
