Armed police surround Scottish football stadium amid ongoing incident

Armed police have rushed to a football stadium in Fife this evening (August 2) amid a disturbance involving two men.

A picture obtained from Fife Jammer by the Daily Record shows a large police presence at the Raith Rovers' football ground in Kirkcaldy.

Cops cars can be seen lining up outside of Stark’s Park on Link Street.

Armed police wearing protective gear and carrying firearms can also be seen swarming the area.

Police confirmed that they rushed to the ongoing disturbance after it was reported at 7.10 pm but the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance at Links Street in Kirkcaldy following a disturbance involving two men which was reported to police at 7.10pm.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
