There were dramatic scenes in a Liverpool residential street late last night when firearms officers surrounded a house.
Albany Road in Walton, at its junction with Poulter Road, was completely blocked off by armed police at around 11pm yesterday.
Five people - a 47 year-old woman, a 29 year-old man, two 19 year-old men and a 40 year-old man - were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "They are all currently in custody where they will be interviewed by detectives.
"A search of the premises resulted in a large quantity of cannabis, a small amount of suspected Class A drugs, and a quantity of cash being seized."
Witnesses at the scene described the road being blocked off and "armed police response aiming guns at a house."
