Armed police surround house after reports of argument in a garden

Armed police surround a house after report of a large argument in a garden.

Officers were called to the scene on Waterside, in Netherton, shortly after 2pm on Sunday after calls to a "disturbance".

Two men were arrested at the scene after a dramatic video was captured showing police pointing guns at a man and walking him from the house.

In the video, officers can be heard shouting: "Armed police, come to the door and bring nothing with you.

"Stand up, put your hands on your head and walk to me. Do it slowly."

The man was then brought away from the property where police arrested him.

A second man was also arrested, both on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

Pictures taken at the scene after the incident showed a number of police vans parked on the road around the house.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO : "We were called at 2.10pm today, Sunday 31 May, to a property on Waterside in Netherton to reports of a disturbance in a garden.

"Officers attended and arrested two males on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

"There is no suggestion at this stage that anyone has been injured or any damage caused.

"The males are currently in custody where they be questioned by detectives.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the incident."
