Armed police surrounded a home in a stand-off which lasted several hours following a robbery.
Cheshire Police attended Sutton Way in Ellesmere Port on Saturday, December 31, to arrest a suspect following a robbery. However, a man refused to open to door and "made a number of threats", according to armed officers outside.
After several hours the man came out of the home, and officers engaged with him, CheshireLive reports.

A 33-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and affray. A second man, aged 32, was also arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Both men have since been released on conditional bail.
In a statement, Cheshire Constabulary said: "At around 10.20am on Saturday 31 December police attended an address on Sutton Way, Ellesmere Port, to arrest a man wanted in relation to a robbery. Upon arrival at the scene, the man refused to open the door and made a number of threats.
"Officers, supported by the armed policing alliance, engaged with the man for several hours and he came out the address shortly after 1pm. The 33-year-old local man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and affray.
"A second man, aged 32, was also arrested on suspicion of robbery. Both men have since been released on conditional bail."
