Armed police swooped on a city region street over reports of a "man with a gun."
Cheshire Constabulary said officers were called to Exmouth Crescent in Murdishaw, Runcorn, at 11.21am on Tuesday. They were supported by firearms teams, a police helicopter and a dog unit.
A search was completed but no gun was found and "there were no offences", police said. Residents took to social media after spotting firearms officers in tactical gear and the helicopter overhead.
