Armed police raid Leeds premises for guns as takeaway guarded and ginnel cordoned off

Police have issued a statement after officers were seen guarding off a restaurant in Chapel Allerton.

West Yorkshire Police armed officers executed a search warrant at an address in Harrogate Road at 3.24am. This was done as part of an investigation into firearms offences.

The cordon behind the businesses remained in place until 3pm this afternoon but before it was lifted, an officer was seen guarding Chefs Restaurant & Takeaway.

A spokesperson for the force said: “At 3.24am this morning, armed officers executed a search warrant at an address in Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton, as part of an investigation into firearms offences.

“A scene was kept in place for a search of the premises which has now concluded.”
